Our Story

Beautiful Clothing Should Have Beautiful Histories

What's The Big Deal?

Child and forced labor taint the fashion industry. In fact, 11% of children are in child labor globally. 1 Some of these children contribute to clothing sold in the US and Europe. 1

We decided to do something about it.

Welcome to Cascading Juniper Design™-- we are a woman-owned small business dedicated to treating others as we would like to be treated. We also deeply care about the planet.

Here's How We Do it:

Care for People and the Planet:

  • Ethical Sourcing: We take great care to only use materials that have been carefully vetted and monitored to ensure everyone in the process is treated and compensated fairly. You don't have to worry about child and forced labor in the background of our pieces.

  • Fairly Paid Artisans: Once you place an order, our competitively paid artisans hand craft your pieces--just for you!

  • Less Overproduction: Our designs are made after they are purchased, which reduces overproduction waste. Each piece made already has a home!

  • Low-Toxin Approach: Our dyes are water-based, vegan, long-lasting, and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. They are tested and pure from up to 1000 harmful substances which are often found in other clothing and dyes. You can feel confident knowing what you are putting on your skin is actually good for you! And, it's gentler on the planet too!

  • Water and Energy Conservation: Our printing process uses significantly less water and energy than typical approaches. It's better for our environment including waterways and eco-systems.

  • Giving Back: 10% of all profits are donated to providing bags for children in foster care and other situations of need. Unfortunately, many children in these situations carry their belongings in trash bags. 2 Together we are serving the youngest among us and providing them with bags of their very own.

  • Original, Beautiful Designs: All of our designs are completely original and exclusive to Cascading Juniper Design™. You won't find them anywhere else!
